The United Farmers' Alliance reports as follows : At our Palmerston stock sale on Tuesday, the bidding was unusually brisk and spirited, and the market showed a decided up\vard< tendency. Considerably more stock was yarded than advertised, owing to several entries coming in which had not been cataloguedWe quote : — Cattle — Springing heifers, £4 2s to i' 6ls ; 18 month heifers, £3 79 6d ; yearlings, £2 7s ; weaners (goo 3), £1 15s; store cows (poor condition), £2 lls ; store cows and heifers, £3 7s 6d. Sheep — Woolly lambs, 9s 5d ; 4- tooth • ewes in lamb, 12s Gd ; ewes (mixed ages) in lamb, lla ; shorn lambs, 5s to 8s , full-month ewes in lamb, 6s 4d to 7s 6d ; empty ewee I (full month), 8s to 9s 3d ; store wethers, 10s lid to 12s Id ; fat wethers, 14s 3d. Pigs— Weaners, 6s lOd to 9s 6d. The Farmers' Alliance held a successful sale at Birmingham yesterday. Considering the weather, the entries of Bheep were small, but there were large entries of cattle. Everything was sold at market rates, with the exception of a few lots, the reserves being too high.
