L #- (PEB PEESB ASSOCIATION.) Chhistchuhch, June 7. t In the Baankruptcy Court, George A. Preece, formerly Resident Magistrate, applied for his discharge. The Official As- | signee's report referred to certain irregular dealings with regard to trust moneys belonging to Hawke's Bay natives. Mr Stringer pointed out that granting the discharge ' would not free the bankrupt from liability 1 in respect of these transactions. His 1 Honour remarked that the granting of a discharge was an indication as to the conduct of the bankrupt which the Court could express in tbis case. Mr Linksay, a creditor, opposed the application. His Honor expressed strong disapproval of the conduct of the bankrupt as a Resident \ Magistrate, his borrowing of money from an officer of bis Court, and also hia misapplication of the trust fnnds of the natives.
