Post Office Deposits

We are authorised to state that on and after this date the interest paid by the Post Office Savings Bank Department will be reduced by one half per cent.

(per press association.) Wellington, This Day. The Government has decided to reduce the rate of interest on deposits in the Post , Office Sayings Bank by a half per cent. This course was resolved upon in consequence of the difficulty of finding payable investments for deposits lodged in the Departniant, together with the fact that the rates of interest have fallen generally throughout tho country. The i reduction takes effect from to-day.
