Wanganui Education Board

The ordinary monthly meeting oftne above Board was held on Monday evening. Present— Messrs Notman (in the chair), Sanson, Bridge, Rdss, Beckett, Fry, and Hurley. Strachao, of Feilding, as head teacher, was confirmed. * Feildinf?.— The selection of Miss Amy Burnett, as assistant teacher, was confirmed. Stanway,— Mr A. W. Rule's application for transfer to Falmerston was held oyer. Halcanibe.— Letter received from Mr 3. Collins re instructions to Miss Staite. It was resolved that Misa Staite be appointed cadet. , ■ ■ Cash Statement.— The cash statement showed :— Building account (over drawn), £1,442 12s Id ; liabilities, £373 17s ; total, £1,816 9s Id; general account (credit), £891 Is Id, leaving a deficiency of £1,425 Bs. Committees.— lt was resolved that a second opportunity be afforded those places which had not elected Committees, the meeting to take pace on the 19th Jane. Kiwitea. : Resolved that three gentlemen's names be selected. Apiti : It was decided that the board saw no reasou to interfere in the election of; Mr H. Osbprne. Colyton.— Application re ience to be considered when in funds. Pohangina. — It was resolved that a new oven be supplied. Beaconsfield;— An application re drains and oven was received. It was resolved to supply; an oven, but to reply that the board bad' no funds for drainage. Birmingham.— Re want of space and enlargement. Application to go on list of urgent work. Apiti.— The board decided to provide half the cost of a stab fence. Pohangina. — An application on behalf of aided shooi was received, and id was resolved to grant - capitation on nsnal terms. After some farther committee business the board rose.— Chronicle.
