We have great pleasure in informing our numerous advertisers and subscribers that the Fkildino Star will be issued as a daily paper on or about July Ist, the rapid increase in population and the i progress made by this district more than i justifying this step. The increased cxi pendi\urc necessarily involved is a matter of consideration to the proprietors, hut they trust the increased support accorded will enable them to meet it, and to still further improve tho paper. One portion of the new supply of paper is now on board the Mamari. daily exuected to arrive in Auckland, and the remainder will come to hand some time in June. In the meantime our premises arc being enlarged to mako room for new machinerj to be erected, and to give additional floor space to our employes. We have to thank our many friends for the loyal support thoy have given us since the Star was first publishrd — some thirteen years ago We have endeavoured to make tho Srxtt a local paper as far as was consistent with the requirements of general readers at a distance, and have done our level best to conserve the best interests of Feilding and the surrounding settlements. 13y issuing as a daily paper our sphere of usefulness will be much extended, and we hone that in the future we shall continue to merit the liberal support which has been so freely c.x« tended to us in the past. We hare grown with the place, and all our inter-ests--public and private— arc centred in it.
