Meeting at Stanway
» — ■=— A large number of settlers were preseiit in response to Mr Corpe's invitation to meet him at tho Stanway school yesterday eyeuing, respecting the formation of a creamery for that district. Mr G. Wheeler was voted to the chair. It was decided to erect a creamery near the junction of the Stanway and Makino roads, on a site to b,e chosen hereafter. The price guaranteed was 3d per gallon of lllbs, the skimmed milk being returned to tho farmers. Tho cream from the Stanway creamery will be carted to Mr Corpo'a factory at Makino siding, where it will be churned iuto butter, and packed for export. Mr Corpe promised to start the creamery not later than the 31st of October. One hundred and ninety three cows were guaranteed at tho meeting, a number which must ensure the success of tho undertaking. The list was left with the Stanway postmaster for additional signatures. A hearty voto of thanks to Mr Corpe, proposed by the chairman, was carried unanimously.
