United Farmers' Alliance The annanl meeting of shareholders in the Farmers' Alliance was held at the offices of the Association on Saturday. There was n larye attendance, nnd the ChnirmiiD o! Tlicre was a very considerable turnover, irrespective of wool and commissions, and the company was now in such a position th-it they could fairly look forward to having n turnover of £40,000 or £50,000, which it was approaching now. Of course the early part of the year would show nothing like thnt, but the company was approaching that condiiion when that tnicht be snid to be the sta'e of its finances, which he thought mi^ht be regarded as prosperous. Gardner, of Kereru, had been nominated for ihe two vacant positions, which when filled, mndc ihe prescribed number of directors — twenty. Mr R. B McKenzie thought tho num ber of directors should be reduced. Mr Arkwright suggested that in future the names of the retiring directors should be placed before tho shareholders no that, in the event of a change in the directorate being deemed necessary, nominations could be made in due form. The Chariman then declared the gentlemen nominated, directors for the ensuing yc;ir It was decided that ihe financial year should end on March 31st, and that the annual meeting be held on the last Friday in May. Mr R. B.
