♦ {.PER PBESS ASSOCIATION.] London, May 12. A cargo of New Zealand wheat has „ been sold at 27s 9d. I May 13. * Several small brokers on the Exchange have suspended payment owing to the tightness of the money market. Two thousand carcases Of frozen meat —a portion of tbo cargo of the s.s. Hawkes Hay, which left Wellington on March 13th -have been condemned. The bad state of the meat was caused through water getting into the hold of the vessel. At the Dairymen's Conference, Mr David Wilson, the Victorian expert, moved— 'That the conference demand the - insertion of a clause in Mr Cameron's Bill to prohibit the colouring of margarine iv imitation of butter.' The resolution was carried. Nkw York; May 13. The fall in stock has caused the suspension of a number of small American banks.
