Mrs Gicsen mentioned as a valuable testimony of the appreciation of the work of the Union, that the clergymen of Napier, Mr Patterson, the Bishop of Wnipu, Dean Howell, «nd others, had been most courteous nod helpful, thus giving a moral support to the members which inspired them with zeal and courage, more especially in the attitude held by the Convention in repard to the drink traffic. Mrs J. C. Thompson moved an amendment, which was seconded »nd carried, to a Inte motion, to the effect that the establishment of a coffee and tea palace in Feilding be abandoned, since the want has, it is believed, bfen supplied by the opening of rooms in Manchester street, where, professedly, all the accommodation required by the public is provided.
