Mr Chester has purchased a site for bis butter factory near the station, the section was one of Mrs McKenzie's. Mr O. Warne, is about halfway through with the building of his factory. I don't know whether to say, butter or cheese factory. Mr C. Hunt is about to take a trip to the Old Country. He is building a good house for one of his sons on the Awahou (Foxton Block), also another house on his Pohangina Road section, and a shedMessrs S. T. Hunt and Co are about to erect a butcher's shop near the Hotel. Mr Conway of the Spur Road is to offer himself as a candidate for representative of No 6 Ward at the forthcoming election and will stand a very good chance of be ing returned. A countrj member, so lo speak, is better for the Ward at large than one pledged to look after the interests of the town principally. Our retiring Warden has done good service during his term of office. Prosperity to his successor. The pegs marking off the sections in the Delaware, Salisbury, and Pohangina Blocks will soon be in, a party under the charge of Mr Dun wick having gone up for that purpose. Lithograph plans will be received now in time for bushfelling. Circulars are about to be sent to each member of the Salisbury, Delaware. Umutoi, and Onslow Blocks for signature, to declare that the signer is willing to have his section brought under the provisions of the Land Act of 1892, instead of continuing under the Small Farm Regulations and asking for a lease ia perpetuity.
