In the Supremo Court to day, argument in the case of the Tolonial Bank v. Mr Kennedy Mucdonald and his wife, which bus been before the Court for the iast fortnight, concluded. His Honor the Chief Justice reserved judgment. This Day. In the a<jsion brought by the Colonial Bank against Mr* McDonald, the Chief Justice gave judgment for the Bank for principal L 4500 and interest at seven per cent aud costs, the Bank to give credit in full for net routs received. Mr Graham, R.M, dismissed tho charge of murdering Jacobsou against Smith on the ground the evidence was not strong enough to send tho case befoie a jury. The prisoner was discharged. Ashbukton, April 7. John Nelson, a young man, a swagger, has been committed for trial for a criminal assault on a girl of 13, the daughter of a respectable farmer. The girl was going a message on horseback at eight in the morning of Faster Mon« day. Prisoner stopped her, asking direc tton, pulled her from her horse into a ditch and while struggling was alarmed by an approaching cart, and ran away ; He was captured and clearly identified.
