A SURPLUS OP £450,000. The financial year closed on Friday last. Results so far to hand show that the Colonial Treasurer's estimate was short of the amounts roalised in the various branches of the Pubho Service, and that a very substantial surplus, approximating £450,000, will be at the disposal of the (iovernment as the outcome of the year's receipts oyer expenditure.
