BIGGEST FAILUSE IN THE COLONIES.
(per press association.) Mklbohrne, April 4. The Commercial Bank of Australia has suspended payment. It is reported that the Associated Banks offered the institution the sum of two million* storl ing, but the offer was declined, as the sum was insufficient to tide the bank through its difficulties. The rumour, hewever, lacks confirmation. No fur* ther particulars are available to night.
