Messrs Lowes & loins report, — Our special sale of cattle at the Masterton ynrds on Wednesday last was generally considered a decided success, although the prices for calves and yearlings were not quite up to late quotations full values, in our opinion, were obtained 1,500 head of all classes were quitted under the hammer, and realized the following prices : — 3- and 4-year, old well-grown good conditioned bullocks, £6; 3-year old steers, £5 6s ; 2-year old steers, 74s to 80s ; 18---nionths, 45s to 54s ; good store cows, 86s ; forward cows, 97s 6d ; ordinary cows, 57s 6d to 72s ; quiet heifers, 74s ; dairy cows, 80s to 100s; yearlings, 45s to 57s 6; weaners, 25s to 365.
