Chairman oF the N.Z Uiflea Association, is drafting a circular to all volunteer corps and rifle clubs, suggesting that each corps or club should send a representative to the Sydney meeting in October next, the reps to be selected by competition in a series of matches at 200. 500, and 600 yards. Major Somemlle is also en* dc.-ivoring to jirronjje for the site of next meet tig of the New Zealand liiflo Ahsociution at iho South Island. .Members of Ihe louncil will be asked to fix upon a Btiitable range, midway between Christ* church nnd I'unedin. to be used alternately with Trentham range, near Ael lington. and both ranges to bo thrown open for ordinary practice and local competitions The nrranjements for Ihe reception of rifiV companies of the Johnsonville En. CAinpment are now completed, and the nffuir promises to be in every way a sue cess. The Feilding contirtgincnt will leare by train to-morrow morniug at 4.15 o'clock.
