The United Farmers' Alliance report on their sale at Palmerston North; on Thursday last as follows:- — '.' ( > We had not a Jarge entry of cattle, but sheep were in full numbers, many more coming forward than were advertised. We sold all the cattle, but for sheep bid-* ding was slow. However, we succeeded in placing most of the lota before they left the yards. We quote— , •*' Cattle.— Heifers, in calfi £4 U 6d fa £4 10s. .., Sheep.— Ewes, mixed ages, 6s to~ 6s Id : fat ewes, 10s to 10s Id ; soujuJ fallmouth ewes. 7s; Bomney ewes, .' nujtod ages. 8s lid; shorn mixed lambs, 5a od toss6d; wethers, 10s. ■ • \r Messrs Qorton and Son's Feildiog sale was largely attended yesterday. ;The entries comprised 450 cattle and. about 9500 sheep. Although there was a considerable fall in- prices, both for cattle and sheep, a great many lines were cleared at the appended quotations^ Cattle.— Three year steers, £4 8s .6d; 8 to 2J-year steers, £3 4a to £3 6s- ; 6d.; heifers in calf , £3 to £4 10s; 18-n*oath3 £2 12s 6d ; fat . cows, £5 10s ; weaneis from 25s to 335. Sheep.— 2- tooth wetherg 8s 6d to 10s sd ; lambs, 3s lOd to 6s 6d ; 2 -tooth ewes, 10s to 10s 5d ; old^w^ 5a Gd to 8&; crocks, 18 to 2s 4d. ._._,. -■--•
