Hnyter's last leaflet gives the following :— Tlie population of Victoria at the end of 1892 ir thus estimated— Births 37,842, arrirals by sen 62,951, increase 100.793, denths 15,907, departures by sea 6>j,214. unrecorded departures 6021, decrease 91.142, increase in 1892, 9651 ; total population, 1,166,329. OTHER COLONIES At the end of 1892 the estimated population of New South Wales was 1.191.050. the increase during the year being 25,750. The estimated population of South Australia) exclusiye of the Northern territory i was 331,721, the increase during the year being 10,998. The estimated population of Western Australia was 58,674, the increase during the year being 5389. The estimated population of Tasmania was 153,141, the increase during the year being 525. The estimated population o\ New Zealand (exclusive of 41.993 Maoris) was 650,433, the increase during the year being 16,375. No return has been receired from Queensland.
