Kiwitea Road

The monthly meeting of the above Board was held to-day. Present — Messrs Reid, Jones, Morton, and Homer. In the absence of the chairman Mr Reid presided. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. The following correspondence was dealt with : — From J. R. Somerville, re the bridle track on the Tapuae Ridge road ; the writer further advised the settlers that the thirds should be spent in actual work upon the track, and not applied towards paying interest on the loan as suggested by the Board. From the Receiver of Land Revenue, forwarding £'220 4s 7d, amount of thirds due. From H R. Anderson, applying for .£lO due for felling trees on the Pahihikura road. From the Treasury, advising payment of 1250 to the Board's bankers, being progress pay. ment for the Kimbolton road grant. From G. E. Nicholas, requesting that his thirds may be spent in forming a road line opposite his section, and asking permission to fell the line. From E. Cossey, re her account for felling road line. From ths Land nnd Income Tax Department, enclosing i? 328 8$ 3d. From A. Morgan, re his account for felling road line. From J. H. Anderson, requesting a return of his deposits for contracts Nos. 2 and 8, Northern line, and asking the Board to deal leniently with him. From A. Dick, re the apportioning of thirds, and the refunding of his rates. From the Treasury, re advances made to the Board in June aud November, 1892. From C. England, applying for payment for felling and burning on Ins section. From the Land and Survey Office, re the applying of certain thirds towards paying interest on loans, and asking for a statement of the road on which it is proposed to spend the loan From W. J. Vile, drawing the Board's attention to the bad state of Haynes' road. From James Stent, asking the Board's permission to put in ten 12in pipes to make the approach to the Pernberton School. From William Morton, enclosing account for land taken from his property. Frotti J. Greaves, Pemberton, offering to advance £15 towards felling and stamping a track. From P. A. Margesson, asking that something may be done to the Mangatutu road. The writer would pay one-third of the cost; of making a bridle track. From J. R. Anderson, enclosing a copy of a letter from the Board authorizing H. Hewit to fall the road line on the Bluff road. From the Rangitikei County Council enclosing statement of expenditure on the Onepnhi bridge ; this Board's share of the cost amounting to L37os 8. From the Manawatn Times requesting payment for the insertion of a certain advertisement. From Ben Poole applying for permission to lease part of section 20 West Waitapn. Resolved, That the name C. Chamen be placed on the rate roll for section 8, block 6, Apiti, iv place of Rame Bros., and that of Jessie Short in lieu of A. Stubbington for section 87, block 11, On»o. Resolved, That Mr Nicholas be allowed to full the bush in front of his section. LLeft sitting.!
