Information for obstruction has been laid against a number of Maoris. The charges will be heard before Mr Bush, It.M. The member for Eangitikei, Mr R. C. Bruce, addressed a crowded meeting at the City Hall to-night, the Mayor presiding. Mr Bruce criticised the policy of the present Government, expressing the opinion that its logical outcome was Socialism and Anarchy. He scouted the claim that the policy of tha existing Ministry had caused the influx of population, asserting rather that it was the result of the working of laws which no Government could possibly control. Mr Bruce received a unanimous vote of thanks.
