Pohangina Road Board
The regularly monthly mooting of the above Board was held to-day. Present. — Messrs Lucas (Chairman), Richards. Arbon, Dickm, and Burton The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Tho following correspondence was received : — From T. J. Olapham and 25 ratepayers urging the Board to take immediate steps to widen and metal the road between the Oroua river and the Feilding Special Settlement. From Lands and Survey Office, re the apportionment of certain accrued thirds. From the Treasury, stating that the special order whereby the Board adopted the provisions of the " Local Bodies Loans Act 1886" was gazetted on the 24th November last, so that any action taken antecedent to that date, to obtain the £0000 boan was ultra vires, and therefore the meeting of ratepayers held on the 11th of November is valueless for the purpose of the said loan. It will therefore be necessary to oomm ence the proceedings de novo. The advertisement must be again put in the papers for four weeks, of the Board's intention to raise the said loan of £(iOQO.— (Left sitting.)
