The temperature of the copper wire of the cable from Nelson to Waueanui has increased from 53 to 78 degrees, presumably through tho deyelopnieut of hot springs. This Day. The body of O?borne who was drowned in a boating accident in the harbor on Saturday week was found on the Petone beach this morning. Smith was charged with the murder of Jacobsen at Pahiatua before the R.M. Court this morning aud again remanded for a week. The Union Company have received advice that the Monowai Joft San Francisco for Auckland at 2 p.m. on the 3rd instant. New Plymouth, March 6. The alleged dummyism case came on for hearing at the R.M. Court this morning, when Peace was committed for trial on the charge of making a false declaration under the Land Act, 1885. Richard O. Hendy, of Hawera. was committed on three separate charges of making a falso declaration. Other cases of alleged dummyism come before tho Land Board shortly.
