+ Messrs Abraham and Williams beld a stock sale at Colyton on Tuesday. There were very large entries of sheep, many more in fact than had been adyertised, there being from 8000 to 10,000 yarded. In consequence of several vendors giving the firm no notice ofthe number of sheep they were bringing in, there was insufficient accommodation provided, and some peoplo were obliged to take their sheep back without having had the opportunity of offering them. Cattle sold freely at recent rates. Sheep draped a bit at the commencement of the sale, but the bulk of thera were disposed of. Forward and empty cows sold at L 4 3s ; cows in calf, L 3 10s ; three year old steers, L 4 18s ; three year heifers in calf, L 5 5s *, milkers, L 5 to L 6. Eighteen months cattle, mixed, L 2 15s 6d to L 3; weaners, 33s to 40s ; store wethers, 103 to lis 3d ; fat and forward ewes, 9s 4d ; full mouth Romney ewes, 9s ; 2-tooth ewes, 10s 6d to 12s 6d ; well bred 6-tooth Lincoln ewes, lls6d; full mouth ewes, from 6s 3d to 7s 9d ; wooly lambs, 5s 7d to 6s 6d ; shorn lambs, 6s 3d to 6s 6d ; Lincoln rams, 1 guinea to 1} guineas. The United Farmers' Alliance, under date March 3rd, report as follows :— We bad a very successful sale at Birmingham on the lst. Although the stormy weather prevented some lines from coming forward, our yards were crowded to tbe utmost. The class of stock waa better thau we had at our former sale, and the reserves were moderate; except in a few cases where they were abovo market rates. Most of the stock changed hands at satisfactory pricea. We quote : — 2-year-old bullocks, L 4 ss ; 3-year-old bullocks, passed at L 6; 2-tootb ewes, 12s 8d to 13s ; ewes, mixed ages, 6s 8d to 8s *, mixed woolly lambs, 5s ld to 6s 6d *, woolly wether lambs, 7s ; cull ewes, 4s 6d ; Mr Bryce's rams, 2gs to 2jgs; Mr Mcßeth's rams, lg to LJgs.
