Proposed by Cr Lethbridge, seconded by Cr Haybittle, That the fence erected by the Land and Loan Corporation be allowed tq remain.— Carried. - " V Proposed by Cr Gould, seconded IjytOr Morey, That the Public Works Committed inspect that portion of Sherwill street as requested in Mr Fiddler's application, and report at next meeting of this Council. — Carried. Proposed by Cr Haybittle, seconded by Cr Lethbridge, That the Agpnt of the Colonists' Land Corporation, be informed that he has committed a breach of bye law 124, in repairing with shingles the roof of a building owned by the Above body. — Carried. Proposed by Cr Haybittle, seconded by Cr Fowles, Tbat all ratepayers whose names appear on the list lying upon the table whose rates are in arrears be served with a summons before the next meeting of the Council. — Carried. Cr Carthew enquired if any report had been received from the Electrical Light Committee. The Mayor replied that the Committee had not yet reported qpqn the matter. Tbe Mayor stated -further, that when in Wellington recently, he interviewed the Electrical Syndicate' and gathered as a result of the interview, thatthe cost of lighting FeUding would amount to some L3OOO. Proposed by Cr Morey, seconded by Cr Sandilands, That the Town .Clerk com. municate with the Colonial Secretary pointing out that this Council consider the tax derived from the totalisator should be apportioned amongst the various local bodies in the districts from which such tax is derived, for charitable aid purposes.; — Carried. Proposed by Cr Sandilands, seconded by Cr Chamberlain, That tenders be called, to be in by the Council's next meeting, for tho supply of charitable aid rations for the current year, the snpply of gravel for maintenance, for the snpply of one and two horse teams, and also forUho supply of oU for, and tho lighting of, the street lamps.— Carried. Proposed by Cr Sandilands, seoonded by Cr Haybittle, That the Mayor Crs Lethbridge and SandUands be a sub committee to meet a like committee from tibe Feilding Sports Committee, to settle the terms upon whioh a deed of trust should be exeouted when vesting the Oval in the Borough Counoil as trustees on behalf of the inhabitants of the Manchester dis. trict.— Carried. The Mayor gave notice of motion to move at the next Council meeting, that tenders be called for taking the levels Of streets within the, Borough of FeUding within certain specified boundaries. The Mayor stated that when in Wellington a few days ago, he called upon Messrs Levm and Pearce, the local representatives of the Colonists Land Corporation, re the vesting pf the sports ground in the Feilding Bbrongh CpunciJ, Tho Corporation considered that thp Council were the proper body m whop, tho ground should be vested, still thp Sports Committee having interests in the ground should be consulted. Cr Sandilands suggested, that <on the occasion of the opening of the Aorangi bridge iv about three weeks time, the event should be made the occasion of some public demonstration, as he considered this work when completed wotdd ultimately be of great bonefit to the town. Tho Council then adjourned..
