The Education Board resumed on Tuesday, when Messrs Carson, (Chair, man), Bridge, Baker, Fry, Notman, Sanson, Hurley, Beckett, and the Rev. Ross were present. Ashurst — The resignation of Miss Ellen Crabbe was accepted. Peinberton — Mr Stansell was appointed teacher at this school. Makino — Mr J. Irwin's application to be transferred to College street school was referred to the Executive. Palmerston — The staffing of the Camp•bell street school was deferred until the receipt of the March returns. Board nominations — Nominations of candidates for the three vacancies on the Board were received from a number of committees. A protest was also received from Mr Pirani, one of the candidates, against the nominations of the Wanganui and Mar ton Committees on the ground that they had nominated three candidates instead of two, as required by the Act. The opinion of Mr Fitzherbert, the Board's solicitor, was taken on the question, arid he advised that no Committee could nominate more than two candidates. After a long discussion Mr Fitzherbert's advice was acted upon, and Messrs Beckett, Bridge, Notman, and Pirani were declared duly nominated. Feilding— An application from the master for permission to add to the residence, the Board to repay him when in funds. After some discussion the application was granted. The question of repairs to the school building was referred to Mr Fry to report upon.
