A protest was also received from Mr Pirani, one of the candidates, against the nominations of the Wanganui and Mar ton Committees on the ground that they had nominated three candidates instead of two, as required by the Act. The opinion of Mr Fitzherbert, the Board's solicitor, was taken on the question, arid he advised that no Committee could nominate more than two candidates. After a long discussion Mr Fitzherbert's advice was acted upon, and Messrs Beckett, Bridge, Notman, and Pirani were declared duly nominated. Feilding— An application from the master for permission to add to the residence, the Board to repay him when in funds. After some discussion the application was granted.
