Feuding Jockey Club
A comtnUteu meeting of the above was held on Saturday evening. Correspondence was received from the Post and Telegraph Department, Wolhngton stating that the estimated cost of telegraph construct ion to the race course vnijlj n« £25, charges for maintenance and working 255, annual maintenance fee £2, plus the cost of putting up and dismantling tbo office and expenses of operators and messengers on evory occasion. The Club would be credited with the cash receipts at each meeting. It was resolved, That the erection of the telegraph poles and offtoes bereft in the hands of the working committee to deal with. Mr H. Bastings was duly elected a member of the Club. It was resolved to advertise the piwileges for sale on tho 24th of March, the Secretary to make the necessary arrangements with Mr Montague* ? j Instructions wore gi?e!a toW" replying some of the Grand Stand windows which hud been blown out. It was decided to ascertain if Messrs Hill and Pool were prepared to work two machines, in which case the Committee resolved to enlarge the totalisator house. This concluded the business. • c I
