(per press association.) London, February 17. The Elderslie's Melbourne mutton is of irregular quality, the cloths being inferior, and is selling from 3d to 3\d per Ib. The lamb is also of poor quality and brought from 4jd to sd. Best Victorian factory made butter, 100s per cwt. The agents are combining to secure higher prices. A quantity of Melbourne butter was put up to auction in Bristol and brought 89s per cwt.

Entries for the United Farmers' Alliance auction sales at Faluierston, and Birmingham, are published to-day. Can't sell more thnn one to each customer. A grand lot of superior summer prints in 12 -yard lengths, worth 6/6, you can have for eighteen pence. Call early or you will miss these. Any quality of strong unbleached calico for 3/11 the dozen yards. Buy your dozen while you may. Strong check Cheviots for men's aud boys' shirts and women's dresses (will not run away on washing day), worth 8/6 the dozen, for 4/11. The very thing for country wear.
