Another sinking instance of the mis> carriage of justice which has made UnEnglish Court of Chancery a disgrace went upon record on December 16th. A thrifty mechanic married two or turnyears ago, a young woman, who was n ward in Chancery, and her little fortune amounted to £400. The costs of tin Court, by the way, for settling that sun upon her were £100. A few months njv she fell ill of a pulmonary affection, ami her physician ordered her to a warme: climate as the only means of saving lie' life. Her husband was poor, and applied to the Court for permission to use a portion of her funds for this purpose. Tl>< Court occupied six months in considering the matter, and then denied the appli<:a» tion, charging tho dwindling estate £400 for its judgment. Meantime the poor woman had died as the doctor said.
