Kiwitea Road Board
The monthly meeting of the above Bonn! was held this day Present — Messrs T. 11. Taylor, (Chairman) Iforncr, Jones, Morton, Reid, and Willuinison The minutes of the last meeting were rend and confirmed. The following correspondence was received : — From John Jones of Pemborton, stat« ing that he wishes his thirds to be spent on the western end of the Mangoira Ko:id. From W A. Sundilands, solicitor to Younger and Laing, demanding payment of the sum of £200 compensation tor breach of contract by not allowing his clients to carry out the Pecp.o'-Day contract. From J. 11. Anderson, asking llie Board to expend the amount of thirds ay« n liable on the Bluff ro.-id at once, and offering to become security until tha thirds are received from the Government ; also, asking the Board's intentions in respect of his claims for felling road line. From J. Greaves of Pemberton. asking the Board to call for tenders for felling and stumping a 10 or 12 feet track to give him access to his property, and adding there are nearly £30 from thirds now due. From Pnchard Bros, drawing the Board's attention to the necessity for a bridge over the Kiwitea river at Mar* shall township. From W. F. Marsh, offering his section No 24 at Birmingham for £45, or the half for £25, as he understands the Board is enquiring for a section in Birmingham. From Jatnos Stent, re renewal of his slaughtering licence. From S. Stansbury, asking permission to uso up toturas lymft along the fence live fronting his section in the Saudon block. From the Palmerston Hospital Board, to tho effect that they cau find board aud residence for charitable aid patients at 10s per week. From Land and Survey Office, stating that certificate for £250 progress payment in connection with the Kimbolton road has been sent forward for payment. From Land and Survey Office, re apportioning of accrued thirds, and asking the Board for further information respecting certain sections. From the Receiver of Land Revenue, stating .£1531 6s sd, amount due to this Board for accrued thirds, had been remitted through the Bank of Australasia. From G. Ackerman and J. G. Harris, enclosing accounts for falling road line and erecting fence respectively. [Left sitting.]
