Funeral of the Late Mr John Bartholomew

The remains of the late Mr John Bartholomew were interred in the Feilding cemetery on Thursday afternoon last. A very large number of the principal residents of the town and district joined in the cortege, whioh consisted of over 40 vehicles and about 85 horsemen. The procession left the residence of the deceased on the Kimbolton road, shortly after two o'clock. The Rev. H. M. Murray officiated at the grave, and delivered a very touching address at the close of the service, suitable to the solemn occasion. A number of beautiful wreaths were placed on the coffin. The attendance during the ceremony at the grave was very large, thus testifying to the esteem and respeot felt for the deceased by his fellow townsmen.
