Resolved, That the fee for slaughtering large and small cattle be one pound per year. Resolved, That the Engineer be instructed to inspect clearing of slips done by Job Palmer, on No 3 Line, and Main road, No 2 Ward, and report at next meeting. Also to inspect bush felled on road line fronting section 5, block 9, No 2 Ward Resolved, That. Mr Joseph Hopkirk, be informed that it xs not the Board's intention to collect the special rate from his section, in respect of interest upon the loan of £5492. Resolved. That Messrs Jensen, C Hunt, G. Hunt, G. Lyne, G. Smith and A, A. Brown, be paid for bush falling on the road line when the Board has fund*. Resolved, That Wardens Lucas and Arbou, sign and afflix the Board's seal to the memorandum of separation between this Board and the Kiwitea Board Resolved, That the Secretary be instructed to obtain the large tracing of the Awahou-Pohangina Special Settlement from Mr Bray, as the same is required by this Board's Engineer. Resolved, That Messrs A. Seabury and F. Gorringe, be informed that the facing of the bush on the road line fronting their respective sections, is included in the loan and will be done as soon as possible. Resolved, That Mr S. Hunt, be asked to giye proof of the surrender of section 35. block 14, to the School Commissioners. Resolved, That the following special order be confirmed ; — That a special rate of 3£d in the £be struck over the whole of the rateable property in N6 2 Ward, such rate to be annually recurring for 26 years, and to be payable at the Board's Office on the Ist days of January and July in each year. ' Resolved, That Mr Hunt Senr., be asked to sell one acre of land for a metal pit, on section 43, and if willing to do so, at what price. i Resolved, That the Engineer be instructed to have a fence erected on the dangerous part of the road fronting Mr Hunt's bush falling at Pohangina. Resolved, That the Engineer be instructed to prepare the necessary plans and specifications for the construction of the Main road, No 2 Ward, commencing at Ferry road (otherwise known as "Ten Chain road ") and going as far north and south as possible; and that teuders be called for carrying out the same, said tenders to be mby 11th February next. Resolved, That the sum of £1 2s 6d excess of rates received from Mr A. A. Brown, be refunded. The Board passed the usual monthly accounts, and then adjourned.
