FEILDING RAINFALL.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAH. Sib, — With reference to my letter published in yesterday's Star, in which I stated that the average rainfall for the past 10 years was ;!6'BB inches, it may be interesting to notice thatthe average for the Jirst Jivi of those ten years was 4T22 inches, and for the last Jive 81*55 inches only. This result may possibly tend to show that the felling of the bush which has taken place during the past 10 years inlhe immediate neighborhood of Feildin* to so great an extent has attracted rain from the town for the benefit tor otherwise) of the surrounding district. The rainfall registered on Tuesday and Wednesday morning last amounted to I*2o inches. 1 am, etc., SAML. GOOUBKHEIIE. Feilding, January 6, 1893.
