An advertiser wants to buy a small farm for cash. Mr U. S. Abraham will hold a sfcock sale at Colyton, to-morrow. Mr J. R. Johnston of Cheltenham, wants labor for erecting wire fencing. Train arrangements for Monday, Jan vary 2nd, 1893, are published to-day in our advertising columns. An important notice from the United Farmers' Alliance, Ltd., Palmerston N. braucn, is published elsewhere. A reward is offered for the return of a silver brooch, lost on Monday, to the Star office. Mr Bradford of the Horse Bazaar, notifies that he has paddocks for horses. Every care taken but no responsibility. Tenders for alterations to the " Barracks " will close on January 7, 1893, at the offices of the Colonists Land and Loan Corporation. Notice is given to-day of the transfer of section 9, Block VIII, Survey District of Apiti, from John Murphy to James Malone. The Empire Tea Company have a replace advertisement in to-day of the utmost importance to lovers of "The cup thatcheers — bufc not inebriates." We have received a late shipment of French all-wool Mousseliue de Lames in splendidly assorted designs and colorings, which we shall sell much under usual prices, for similar qualities, at Te Aro House, Wellington. We shall offer one lot of these delaines at lO.jd per yard. Those are very nice goods, in cream grounds, with very cluirming drops in shades of heliotrope, blue, and grey. Patterns of these will be forwarded, post free, on application to James Smith, Te Aro House, Welling ton.
