The New Zealand Loan and Mercan* tile Agency Company, Limited, report on the produce markets for the week ending Wednesday, 14th December, 1892, at follows :-- Wool— Cable advices from London confirm the recent decline in values, and the tone of the wool market, although firm and witli good competition, is evidently not elastic. A great deal has been and is expected from the result of the American presidential election, but its effect upon the wool market is at this point mere matter of conjee tare. Brad* ford buyers at London sales are operating very quietly, and we see no reason to anticipate an early advance in prices. Clips are coming in considerable and steady quantity, although delayed by the heavy slip on the Government line. We shall hold our next local sale on 30th inst., and we expect to submit a large and good catalogue. Sheepskins— We regret to report a further drop in sympathy with wool. Ke* turns received from London by the lasfc. mail are very disappointing to shippers. At our weekly sale to-day we disposed of a large catalogue at full rates* fullwooled crossbred skins realising up to--4s 4d, three-quarter wooled and merinos up to 3s 6d, and inferior and half wooled from Is 6d to 2s 6d, dry bare pelts up to 6d each. Large quantities of sheep are now cooling forward to the freezing works, and we quote for green factorypelts from lOd up to Is 3d for best. Hides— The local market has beeni overlooked for some weeks, and im consequence we haye had to send a portion of our consignments to outside markets ; values have declined to someextent, and we now quote hides in good shipping lines.
