Washington, December 19. Enquiries made by a New York paper show that 168 Democrats in Congress favoured the repeal of the M'BLinley Tariff, while 94 proposed a special session. London, December 19. The will of the late Lord Tennyson has been lodged. The estimate is valued at £57,000 realty and £2500 personalty. New Yobk, December 20. A syndicate in Colorodo sold a Dutchman 15,000 acres, and pretended it was an act of patronage to his Government. Eight hundred Dutch people emigrated there, but found the whole thing a swindle, and that the Government were merely offered the option of purchase. Many of the new arrivals are in a destitute condition, and the public are subscribing a loan to assist the settle* ment. The New York Exchange is excited, and half a million shares have been sold.
