Local Industry
The Feilding Brewery having changed hands, our reporter took a run through it the other day, at the invitation of its new proprietor. The present process of cool* ing is far too slow, so Mr Henderson has given instructions to Messrs Burtt Bros, of Dunedin, to. supply him with a fresh refrigerator. A two horse power engine for pumping water into the refrigerator, and also for grinding the malt, is also to be erected on the premises. The old mash tub has likewise had to be replaced by a much larger one, and with these alterations, the brewery will be capable of an output three times as large as is at present the case. We predict for Mr Henderson a prosperous future in his undertaking here, seeing the quality of the article which he is putting on the market is of such an excellent character, and his reputation as a brewer must ensure the driving out of the Dunedin and other ales from this district, as there can be obtained as good on the spot. Our reporter has sampled the beer and he considers it superior to the best of the Dunedin or any other imported ales*
