A general meeting of the members of the Manchester Cricket CJub was held last night at the Denbigh Hotel. Mr Light presided. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Challenges from the Sanson and Birmingham have been received, and it was decided to accept the same, the dates to be arranged hereafter. The match with Carnarvon Club is to take place on the 21st inst. The Secretary read a letter from Mr E. Goodbehere accepting the presidency of the Club, and offering to present a bat to the scorer of the highest batting average during the season. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Goodbehere for his liberality. Resolved, That the holder of the highest batting average for six completed matches or upwards be the winner of Mr Goodbehere's presentation bat. Resolved, That the Secretary communicate with the Secretary of the Feilding Club, in reference to the latter Club making use of the Manchester Club's ground. The meeting then stood adjourned till Friday the 30th instant at the Manchester Hotel. A match was played yesterday afternoon on the Manchester Club ground between Feilding and Oroua County and the Wanganui Collegiate School. The Feilding Club made 80 runs, of which number Levett scored 32, and Hedges and Hill 15 each. Marshall and Duncan went in first for the school, and succeeded in knocking up 47 runs without the loss of a wicket, when time was called, as the boys had to leave by the 4 p.m. train for Wellington.
