Pohangina Notes
[from our own correspondent.] A meeting of the Pohangina Farm Homestead Association is to be held at Colyton on Saturday next at 2 o'clock, to receive the reply of the Commissioner of Crown Lands to the requests made by the members at their last meeting. A letter is also expected from the Minister of Lands. Tbe members of the Wanganui Harbor Board Association, or, more properly, the Pohangina Small Farm Association No. 2, or, for short, Pohangina No. 2, are asked to meet their chairman at Colyton on Saturday next, at 3 o'clock, for important business. Our district will participate in .the ad* vantage that Ashurst has in having a doctor in her midst. Dr Locking came from "Waitara last Friday, at the recommendation of Mr Halcombe. Dr Locking will have no cause to regret having followed that advice. Our population is rapidly increasing, not only in the way in which our crowded schools indicate, but by the influx of new families. So our wishes ar© to be gratified. The Pohangina Road Board will haye its offices in its own territory. We don't see why our wardens should go to " furrin " parts.
