The revenue for th.c first fire months of the financial year shows a decrease of L 189.000 as compared with the corre* sponding period of the previous jear. The trial of tlio directors of the Anglo Australian Banking Co. has begun. The Crown Prosecutor, in his opening address, stated the institution started in 1888 with L 37 10s capital, but by means of fictitious transactions in land, the accused made it appear that the bank had a paid-up capital of Lloo,ooo an a|magt nificent reserye fund. The police have received and extraordinary ietter from " A Tramp " that the limbs recently found in the public park belong to a fellow tramp, who died of heart disease, and who requested his mate to chop his body to bits so as to render the holding of an inquest iropos* sible. The story is, however, discredited. Vienna, December 5. There is an impression in Vienna that the Czar is disgusted by the recent events in France, and is drawing nearer to Geri many and Austria.
