The chemist, William Powell, charged ' with using instruments to procure miscarriage, was found guilty at the Supreme Court to-day. Judge Conolly sentenced the prisoner to ten years' penal servitude. Lyttelton, This Day A passenger by the Te Anua from Melbourne named Ryan, on his way to join his friends in Halcombe, died between Lyttelton and Dunedin last night from consumption.
