Volunteer Items

There will be no parade of the Manchester Rifles on Thursday, December Ist. The Manchester Rifles paraded on Thursday tight, lieuts. Kirton arid Bray, and Surgeon Sorley, and a fuU complement of non-commissioned officers and men were in attendance. After the company had been inspected by lieut. Kirton, the men were exercised by Color Sergt. Mjlson, Berets. Bellve, Petherick, Say well and Kitchen. Lieut; Bray then took them in hand and marched them out into Kimbolton road where they were exercised inskirmishing and company movements. On returning to the Assembly Rooms, the names were taken of members who intend to join the ambulance corps, and be "present at the lectures to be giVen by Dr Sorley. The competition of the recruits who joined in October, for Sergt. Bellve'a medal, will commence on Wednesday 30th instant at 5 a.m.
