"A Royal Pardon"
The above drama will be produced by the talented Dainpier Company at the Assembly Rooms this evening. The skilful pen of Henry Fettitt and the stage knowledge of George Conquest, that veteran of the old Grecian theatre, proproduced the drama known as " A Royal Pardon," a piece which had an extraordinary run in London. Our readers will judge of its merits when they remember that those sterling sensational dramas 11 Harbour Lights," "In the Ranks," 11 Hands Across the Sea," " London Day by Day," " Belle of Haslemere," whioh Bland Holt and Charles Warner played to such immense audiencs in Wellington a year or two ago, are by the same clever writer. "A Royal Pardon" runs much on the same lines as those well known dramas. There are startling situations and exciting tableaux. The piece gives much greater soope for dramatic talent than did " Robbery Under Arms." The piece will be well mounted, picturesquely displayed, and we have no doubt will be well played. It should be even more effective than last night's drama.
