Birmingham Notes

(per press association.) The usual fortnightly meeting of the Literary Society was held last Saturday evening at the Town Hall. There was a very good attendance of members and visitors. On Saturday evening, at the school room, a meeting of the members of the Farmers' Club will be held. The business will be to receive the report of the committee re rules or the Club. Some interesting subjects will be brought forward by the bon. secretary and members. The chair will be taken at 8 o'clock sharp. AH interested in the formation of the Club are requested to be early in attendance. A slight shock of earthquake was felt here on Sunday afternoon. Several bush fires have taken place ; the result of firing ratas. The billiard saloon is a very imposing building and will soon be ready for the opening ceremony.
