Professor Lichtwark

» — On Saturday afternoon last, we had the pleasure of attending this gentleman's horse-training class at Dv Monckton's. The animal which the Professor was supplied with, was a chestnut horse, not quite two years old, the property of the Doctor. The simple yet thoroughly effective methods by which a practically unbroken animal is brought to subjection were shown and explained to the claes, step by step, in a most interesting way, and as a result of about an hour and a half's lesson the horse became perfectly quiet, and followed the professor or any of his pupils aa tamely aa a sheep dog answers to the call of its master. It would not be fair to either the professor or his class at this stage to explain in detail the manner in which the former accomplishes the result sought for. But we may say. the result is broughi about by a judicious system which is based on the principles of kind and gentle treatment. We strongly advise those who hare to do with horses to join the profes* sor's class. The fee is very moderate, being only one guinea for the course of lessons, and as a proof of the professor's thorough belief in his own powers, this sum need not be paid until the pupil 13 thoroughly salisfied that be has received good value for his money, which we can confidentially assure him will be the case. During hi 9 stay in this district, the professor will make his headquarters at Mrs Hastie's, where he may be consulted at any time.
