The Presbytery
—*- i ~ The Presbyter/ of the district met at Marlon on Wednesday last, the Key. Johu Boss, Turakina, moderator. There were also present — Bey. Messrs Doull, (clerk), McDonald (Waverley), Murray (Feilding), and Gordon (Marlon;, along with Messrs Bridge, Marshall, Bates and Fletcher. On the motion of the clerk, seconded by Mr Bridge, the Bey, Wm. Ross, of Cowcaddens, Glasgow, was associated with the Presbyter; and received a cordial welcome to New Zealand. The Presbytery took into con* siileration the arrangements required to meet the injunction of the General Assembly in regard to the visitation of the various congregations within the bounds. The bi-monthly reports of the several mission stations, and of toe work among the Maoris were given in. There* after, at the request of the Presbytery, the Key William Boss gave an address, dealing with the salient features ot aggressive Christians' work in the Old Land, with the conditions and dangers of Church life in Canada and the United States, and his impressions regarding the special needs of New Zealand, for which he received the hearty thanks of the Presbytery.
