Women's Christian Temperance Union.
The regular monthly meeting of the above was held on Thursday afternoon last. Miss Dalrymple presided. Resolved, that the Ministers of the various Churches be requested to place their vestries at the Union's disposal tor holding meetings, It was resolved, to have a tea and coffee tent on sale days, the president and Mrs Sorley to make the necessary arrangements. Some of the funds in hand are to be laid out in material to be made up, with the view of holding a sale shortly. Correspondence was read from Sir R. Stout, re the statement published during the discussion on the Electoral Bill, to the effect that he had proved a traitor to woman's suffrage. Sir Robert wrote to Miss Dalrymple and suggested the, best methods to be adopted during the coming session, explained how the Bill was lost, gave his ideas on the best way to petition Parliament, but did not contradict the statement that he had proved a traitor to the Bill. The question of the Girls Club was held over for a while, there not being sufficient names forthcoming, to justify the starting of it. This concluded the business.
