THE RACING CONFERENCE.

The programtne of the business to be transacted to-morrow is' as follows •:— 1. Hon. .Captain Russell to move, Thai the draft rules and constitution of the New Zealand Jockey Club be adopted, subject to such amendments as may be made by this conference. 2. Hon. J.D. Ormond, That rules for the resignation of trainers, jockeys, and apprentices be addeid to the Rules of Racing. 3. Dunedin Jockey Club to move, That the Conference take into consideration the frequent breaches of Rule 168, and prepare an agreement suitable to the terms of the said rule as between employer and employe" ; a copy of same to be forwarded to each Metropolitan Club, with a recommendation for its adoption. . 4. Canterbury Jockeydub to more, That rule 22 of the tofcalisator be ; struck out, and that the following words be added to Rule 14 after the word " commission" in the second line " less the amount of the State Tax." The proposed amendment to take effect at the close of the current season. r 5. Wanganui Jockey Club to move, That rules for the regulation of Hunt Club races be added to the Rules of Racing. 6. Hon. Captain Russell to move, That the Conference take steps to put down the •• "walking totalisatof a." * 7. The Greymouth Jockey Club to move, Thajt clause 6 of Rule 22 be altered as follows:^ 1 ' Any club holding two meetings in the year must give an average of at least £250 per,diem in stakes." The following correspondence will also receire attention:: -Letters from Mr W. Guffie, presideat of the Maniototo Jockey Club, aud from the Eeef ton Jockey Club, with ' reference to the increase in the added money, and a letter from Mr C. C. Miles, secretary of the Manawatu Bacmg Club, asking the conference to receive a deputation rom the racing clubs on the West Coast of the North Island with, reference to, toe formation of Metropolitan Committees.
