The Feilding State School
A special meeting of the Committee of the above school was held yesterday evening to consider special correspondence and general. Present — Messrs Sorley, Carthew, Curtis, Taylor. Worsfold, and Shearer. In the absence of the chairman, Dr Sorley was voted to the chair. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The head master reported that Dr Richardson's Text Book might be used in the school, and advised that the Board be asked for permission to use it. On the motion of Mr Carthew, seconded by Mr Curtis, it was resolved that the j Text Book be used in the school, and that twelve copies be ordered. A letter was received from the Wanganui Education Board advising that Mrs Lissanian should be transferred to another school, and that Miss Watts should return to Feilding and another pupil teacher be assigned to Feilding. Mr Hill waited on the committee to give his opinion on the matter, and stated that he presumed the Board's recommendation was based upon the Inspector's last report, and possibly another reason was owing to the unsatisfactory result shown by Mrs Lissaman's class at the last examination. Proposed by Mr Carthew, seconded by Mr Curtis, That the Secretary write to the Board and ask it to supply the committee with the Board's reasons for advising the transfer of Mrs Lissaman to another school, and that on receipt of the Board's reply the secretary call another meeting to consider the same. — Carried. Resolved, That Messrs Taylor and Worsfold constitute the visiting commitfor the ensuing month. A vote of thanks to the chairman closed the proceedings,
