London, November 10. i It was rumoured that the Duke of | Marlborough committed suicide, but the Marquis of Blandford, his heir, denies the truth of the report. Information has been received that a British man-of-war is disabled 500 miles off the Lizzards, and a vessel has been sent to her assistance. The cruiser is supposed to be H.M.S. Calypso (16 guns), or H.M.S. Cleopatra (12 guns). The Executive of the Welsh. Miners' Federation has issued a manifestos stating that 90,000 miners are urging them to join the Federation of Great Britain in preventing the reduction of wages. Twelye tourists were drowned at Jaffa, in Palestine, through a boat capsizing in the surf. Paris, November 11. Colonel Dodds reports that he proposes to burn Abomey, the capital of Dahomey. King Behanzin is making ready to fly. The Fetishmen fear that this will demoralise the people. Usually they poison a king who has been defeated. A German Anarchist has been arrested for being concerned in the Paris explosion. He had dynamite in his possession when taken into custody. The Anarchists threaten further outrages in revenge for the execution of Eavacbol. Le Matin states a preliminary treaty of alliance between Russia and France was signed on Saturday last. Later accounts credit Cleveland with 299 votes in the Electoral College, the largest majority since Washington was elected President of the United States. The Republicans carried fourteen States and the Democrats 25. The latter won Ohio by a small majority and carried MeKinley's own district by a majority of a thousand. There is great surprise at the result of the voting. McKinley refuses to speak, but Harrison's party admit the country is clearly hostile to prohibitive tariff's. Leading newspapers rejoice at downfall of Plutoscracy and Corruption.
