The Musical Quartette Party
This company opened in the Assembly Rooms last night. Owing to the siniill attendance, it was nearly 8.80 before the performance began. Miss Harris played the overture " Irish Diamonds," in a ' finished manner, and is a pianiste of no mean ability. " The Mariners," a trio by Miss Castle and Messrs Bergin and Cadzow, was weJl rendered, the voices blending nicely. Miss Castle sang " Fiddle and I " with great taste, and gave " No Sir " in repose to an enthusiastic recall. This lady has a very sweet soprano voice, which she uses with great skill, her enunciation being clear and distinct. Mr Cadzow next sang " Killarney " and for an encore " Bonnie Nellie Brown." This gentleman has a good tenor voice, of very fair range and compass. " The Village Blacksmith," sung by Mr Bergin, was an excellent rendering of this grand song. Mr Bergin has a very powerful baritone voice, which he knows how to make the most of. Mr Morris provided the comic element, and gave two or three Irish songs in a most humorous manner. The Rev. \V. Hal. Wilson delivered an interesting address on electricity and the advantages of electropathy. The company appear again this evening, when an entire change of programme will be given. We advise lovers of good music to put in an appearance at the Assembly Rooms to-night, and feel sure they will be satisfied with the bill of fare put before them.
