The Manchester Bides paraded on Thursday night for inspection. There was a very good muster. Lieuts. Eirton and Bray were in command. After the inspection the corps was drilled, in com* pany movements by Sergt. Major Macmillan. The improvement being made is very marked. Sergt. Fetherick instructed the squad of recruits. In the course of the evening Lieut. Kirton presented Volunteer Feck with a silver medal (donated by Volunteer Scott), with a few complimentary remarks. Volunteer Feck being quite a young member his winning a prize was all the more honorable. The following were appointed as a Shooting Committee, Color Sergt. Evans, Sergts. Bellve and Petherick; Volunteers Belfit, Kitchen, Parker, Scott, Lethbridge, Stevens and the officers ex-officio. The parade was then dismissed. Afterwards the Shooting Committed met when Volunteer Kitchen was elected Secretary. The arrangements were made for firing for firing for Lieut. Kirton's and Sergt. Bellve's medals, for class firing and recruits. The mode of contending for Mr McGee's gold medal was discussed and so settled that every man in the corps, with ordinary attention to his practice shooting, may stand a chance of winning it. The consideration of the mode of firing for Mr Wollerman's and for Mr Bailey's clock, was held over until the next meeting which will be held, after; the parade on Thursday night* Class firing will be pushed on aa rapidly as possible as. tl*es» prizes cannot be competed fpr until it is coucluded.
